[OOC Note: It seems this is needed, but to note it is assumed citizens normally pay taxes and all below concerns businesses within the guild only, inferring they are part of a Medieval Union and are protected by law from being prosecuted unfairly. Any fees paid for being in the Guild are obvious as one pays to remain part of the Union. Just like a Union, you do not have to be part of it to run a business. Charter
The City of Residence shall hereby be called "the City" and any mention of "the City," will, hereafter, include her Lady Enchantress and the members of the council. A fine of 50 gold is imposed on any guild member to violate the charter.
Regarding Traveling
Members of the Guild are provided protection for their horses, wagons and goods while moving about the land, due to the danger of Highwaymen, Bandits and other such troubles when traveling from town to town or overseas.

When a member of the Guild perishes, and those who are of the guild and in the city shall attend the funeral creative. The Guildsman's corpse shall be burned and sent to its end and the remains shall be brought to their place of rest. If this oath is forgotten and kin are left to pass the Guildsman shall pay according to his rank and one gold shall be given to the poor. If a thrall or ward are where the dead lie, they ought to watch over the body for the night, within his house, until it can be tended to.

The Steward is expected to keep treasure and gold of the Guild under the seal of the current Alderman of the guild. All coin is counted and signed by both the Alderman and Steward to ensure accurate count and that no fortune is missing from the Guild's House.

When a Guildsman dies, his eldest son or next heir, shall have the seat of his father, or uncle. If the father was no Guildsman, nor of any relation, shall give nothing for his seat. An adopted heir may take the place of his father, so long as they are recognized within a written document of their position within the family of the deceased. No husband can have seat within the guild by right of his wife, nor demand a seat by the right of his wife's ancestors.

None of the city of residence shall buy and sell again in the same city, thus cycling coin, unless they are a member of the Guild or of the franchise. Trade will be restricted to franchise and no individual or group is granted permission to purchase honey, fat, salted fish, oil, fresh hides or skins unless they are a Guildsmen. Unless of the Guild one is not granted to hold a surplus of grain of ten pounds for the purpose of selling if they are not a Guildsman. In doing so one can be convicted and their goods given to the City.

The Coffer of the Guild shall be under control of the Alderman and the Steward and three keys shall be held for the chest to provide security: one by the Alderman, one by the Steward and one by the City. Members of the Guild swear to uphold a duty to Patronage and purchase or sell goods and services from members within the guild, where available. Seeking tradesmen that are within the guild's service or debt, to perform fair practice to other Guild members, is encouraged. Any tradesmen that requires service needs proof of membership with the guild or documentation as their status as a merchant, be it contracts or a Merchant's Token. Members of the guild also swear to uphold order and their duty of Citizenship by remaining loyal citizens and act in accordance with the laws of the land. They are to uphold the role of family oriented men and, at all times and in all ways, remain, in the eyes of the community, as reputable and valuable citizens. All places in which the Guild's Households influence or a Guild House must maintain dignity and honor all types of Merchant Tokens, Craftsmen and other symbols that prove a trader's goodwill to trade honorably. Guildsmen shall always render aid and service to members, still in good standing of the Guild, that suffer legal troubles or immoral persecutions within the House. Under the sake of brotherhood and lawful justice, all members of the Guild shall seek to settle all disputes in a timely manner. Guild members shall keep lists of known Masters and Specialists which they shall provide to other members at minimal or no cost to a brother and requesting lessons from masters within the Guild shall be held at the Guild's discretion and expense.

All members go the Guild who have paid dues and present the utmost loyalty shall be given priority during Festivals for their Market Stalls and if traveling, be given payment for or given free, temporary residency. At the end of the Charter it carries a signature which seems to be the sun insignia on his collar and much of his belongings. Beside it was the co-signature of a leading figurehead who helped dictate the Charter's writing.
