Elections!

It has come to the attention of the current Council that the 5th chair has been empty long enough.  Nominations for this position will be given to Eden for record and the participating candidates will need to carry and host their own campaigns.  

• Runner must be a member of the Hollow
• Runner must be in good standing with the law
• Runner must be nominated by someone not in the running itself
• Runner must attend council meetings and Hollow functions.

Second on the poll.  A branch dedicated to over seeing the punishment of the prisoners taken in the Hollow property.

These officials will not need to be on the council itself but will need to express a sense of justice and adhere to the head council.  (Much like a jury)  
This will be a volunteer and no nomination required.  All names collected will be placed on the poll for voting.

In horribly crude handwriting, with the letters flying all over the place, along with punctuation errors, and cancellations, a nomination would be submitted. It would appear the author of the note is horribly unused to writing.
The words would be followed by a string of commas and periods as if the author knew these should be present but he wasn't sure where to put them.

There's a note left in neat, loopy script. Clearly it isn't the knight's own handwriting, though it does bear his ugly, chickenscratch signature.

In a fine scrawled script the dragon left a response to the nomination of Lady Manda:

I didn't know, Snack, that you were a member of the Hollow to make public nominations for office! I suppose this means I'll get to have breakfast, lunch and dinner! Stock up on potions to recover your health and limbs.

In a finely written retort, a piece of paper was placed under the threat in purple ink.

It was my impression that Captain Nykita was a member of the community.
As a scholar of not only science and logic, but law and politics, I find it my duty to inform that senibalism is a highly illegal activity.
As a new but loyal member of the community, even if I'm not elected into office, I will take it upon myself to lobby for stricter legislature against such heinous acts.

Dear Valued Citizen Blackjay,

A vote for Amanda is a vote for safety, justice, and fairness. My technology, and money have aided in defense against the Drakorian threat from Catolia to Purrasia; from large cities, to small coastal fishing villages, in order to allow men and women to sleep without worry of their children being eaten. There are much larger, and healthier game than sentient beings that are far more nutritious and satisfying for a dragon, wyrmme, or any other large predator.  Bear, Elk, Moose, Bovine, Horse, Large Ostrix, and other such game contain a much higher calorie count than a sentient squirrel-furre. As an obnivore I highly value and encourage the right and need to eat carnivorously. However, basic sentient rights are important for any civilization, whether you are of noble background, or shovel dung for a living.
Please visit the college, I shall educate you on critical thinking, nutrition, politics, and sociology, tuition free.

A finely scripted message was left in response. The signature at the bottom was scrawled in golden lettering and sealed with a marbled green and red wax imprinted with a dragon's claw mark:

Dear Lady Corliss,

I greatly appreciate your enthusiasm for Justice, Fairness and Safety. I also greatly appreciate your understanding of ages old friendly animosities that might exist between men who, in times of yore, stood at times as rivals and helpful acquaintances. I'm sure you can understand that such a history might have far more behind it than the curio of senibalism! I trust that such antagonistic views were not beyond your comprehension, and instead you chose to take the time to reflect upon the dangers that more serious creatures may have posed to Captain Squirrels. Or, perhaps it is that such musings as humor are beyond you and the developed glee of such idle tweeks of the metaphorical nose are not something you are familiar with. In an effort to make sure that any who run for an office of Council are best positioned to be as well rounded as possible, I would like to offer to lend a few tomes from my library on the subjects of humor and pranks. There's one or two that I think you may gain some honest insight from! And if you find them to be the truly addicting reads that I suspect you will, I may well be persuaded to make copies of them for you at no expense to yourself. In addition, I would like to lend and offer you my services in such realms as: laughing, giggling, the idle tease, the good-natured joke, the hearty jest and, far from least, how to remove sticks from arses with minimal effort. If you're concerned about taking such tutoring from a potential campaign opponent, I may well suggest several neutral parties you could benefit from. Otherwise, you may find or leave note for me at The Dragon's Scales.

Speaking of the establishment! Campaigns are costly things. Now, since I am a prideful creature and would not dare to ask that any tutoring offered to one of my family be free of repayment, I am most willing to offer you a grand discount in any loans you might wish to secure for the funding of your efforts. Shy of that, should you wish to convert any coin you have from outside the realm to fund your activities into Peddler's stamp (and quite honestly, what loyal citizen of the realm would wish to use any other coinage), I am more than willing to see a cheaper rate for you on any conversions required. In addition, I would like to offer a commemorative coin with a likeness of yourself in celebration of your being nominated. If you could stop by at some point so I can figure out how best to stamp it, I would appreciate it greatly.
